The Cat Club of Lyon Dauphiné Savoie (or CCLDS) was founded on March 1, 1988 by a handful of cat enthusiasts. Nine breeders joined together to set up the first board of directors composed of Mr. Jean-Pierre LACOMBE (president), Mr. Philippe FOURNEAU (vice-president), Mrs. Christiane PHILIPPE (vice-president), Mrs. Nicolle VIAL (secretary), Mr. Bernard BELOT (assistant secretary), Mr. Jean-Pierre FILIPPI (treasurer) and Mr. Hervé HELSENHORN (assistant treasurer).

Our goal has remained the same all these years: to bring cat lovers together while encouraging the improvement of working and companion cat breeds through events that connect breeders with the general public. To this end, we organize four to five cat shows a year in the Rhône-Alpes region, promoting purebred cats through our beauty contests. We strive to be present in the region's main towns and villages, culminating in our largest show at the Cité Internationale in Lyon, the birthplace of our club, at the beginning of the year.

We are members of the French Feline Federation (FFF), founded in 1933, and our shows are held under the rules established by the International Feline Federation (FIFe), founded in 1949 at the initiative of Marguerite Ravel in France. Today, 43 countries are members, making it the largest feline association in the world. Our club is proud of this affiliation, and the expressions of satisfaction from our members and exhibitors are proof of the dynamism and positive atmosphere that prevail at our shows. Thanks to you, the Lyon Dauphiné Savoie Cat Club is one of the leading clubs in France, and we hope it will remain so for a long time!
